Toronto, Ont., Sept. 10, 2019 — Toronto’s Art & Artist’s Festival is returning to the streets for the 50th anniversary of its inaugural Art & Arts Exhibition on Sept., 11.
More than 500 artists will be exhibiting their work in the gallery’s first Art & Artists Festival since its founding in 1988.
The exhibition is a collaboration between the Canadian Museum of History, the Art Gallery and the Toronto Museum of Art.
“We’re really proud to be bringing this amazing and influential festival back to the city for its 50th year,” said Jim McBride, director of the Toronto Art Gallery.
It is a rare opportunity for artists and museums to meet and collaborate, he added.
There will be free and public entry to the festival, which will feature exhibitions by a variety of artists, as well as live music and performances.
About 40 artists are participating, including artists from Canada, the U.S., the U, U.K., Europe and Australia.
The festival will be held at the Art & Exhibition Centre in downtown Toronto.
Tickets are $35 for adults, $15 for students and seniors.
