A new exhibition will open at the Art Gallery of Indonesia on Monday, showing the work of artist Murakami, a Japanese art icon who lived in the early 1960s.
The exhibition, titled A Piece of Life: Jokowing and the Making of a President, will also include the paintings of artist Lee Ki-jin, the painter and sculptor, and other Indonesian artists.
The exhibition has been curated by the artist’s widow, Kumi Koda.
“We had to think about this idea to present it in a way that people could understand and appreciate it,” Ms Koda told AFP news agency.
“It was the first time that a portrait of a president of the republic of Indonesia was shown in public.”
In his portrait, Jokowedo poses with a portrait by artist Lee K-Jin, in an exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Jakarta on September 23, 2018.
